Anatomy is one of those subjects that can easily lose emphasis in any training. Students are often already filled up with philosophy overload from all the new information they are working to integrate, so it is key to have an anatomy curriculum that is simple, digestible and easily connected into the flow of your training. I have found the key to be hands on learning that will even engage those that don't have a strong interest in A&P. Having practiced yoga for years and working hands on with many yoga teachers and students through my workshop and massage practice I have geared my courses towards what is important to the young budding Yoga Teacher.

How long is it? |
Every yoga studio has its own mission and perspective of the body and what is important for practice. So each of my Anatomy & Physiology courses is tailored to your studio and students needs. I offer 2 hour, 4 hour and 8 hour hands on lecture lengths

What is the focus |
Since most YTT's are 200 hours, and your average whole body college course in Anatomy & Physiology runs between 60-90 hours, not everything can be covered. And not everything needs to be covered. I have streamlined my material to give your students the knowledge and core material that is specific to their new trade to make them some of the best Yoga Teachers out there.
Each training is tailored to fit the curriculum you wish to share with your students. My areas of focus are: ~Muscles and skeletal systems in relation to the Yoga Asanas. ~The many different planes of movement in the Asanas. ~The connective tissue/fascia, muscle connection and how it relates to the Asanas ~Joints and their movements ~How to begin to feel the difference between healthy stretching and damaging compression of the body. ~Muscle/fascia structure and functions ~ Benefits of Yoga, contraindications, and healthy movement patterns ~ Energy Anatomy (understand the chakra's and their part in yoga practice) *Yoga Alliance requires that 10 hours be committed to the study or hands on education of Anatomy & Physiology in a 200 hr training.* |
